Welcome to Single Fathers Due to Cancer
The Single Fathers Due to Cancer program is dedicated to helping the thousands of fathers
who each year lose their spouses to cancer and must adjust to being sole parents.
Remarkably, few resources are available for fathers and very little is known about the unique
challenges they face and how to best help them through this enormously difficult time.
This website offers support, information, and resources to fathers as they adjust to being
sole parents and work through their grief and that of their children. The site also provides
information for health care professionals in oncology and clinical settings.
If you are a single father whose wife died from cancer, please click on the above button
to complete a brief survey. Our hope is that through your participation, we will
better understand your experience as a single father so that we can develop treatments
to lessen the burden of future generations of fathers and their children. Your answers to
this survey will also inform us about how to provide better end-of-life care for mothers
with cancer.
We view our work as a collaborative effort and invite fathers and health care professionals
to give us feedback so that we can best target our efforts. We are interested in helping create
support groups for single fathers due to cancer in areas where there is enough interest. If
you want to be contacted about possible support groups in your area,
please click here to provide
your contact information.
Thank you very much for your help.
